“Connecting Paths”
This initiative, open to the general public, offers a new perspective on the Technion through unique access to 40 landmarks scattered along five circular walking trails around the campus.

The walking routes, which pass by the Technion’s main attractions, include stops at the ecological garden, Nobel Laureates Avenue, the obelisk, the Kislak Park, and other natural spots, monuments, bridges, historical structures, and modern architecture. At each landmark, visitors will find a sign with a QR code that can be scanned to access an app that navigates and guides users through the trails. The app provides a wealth of information and enriching anecdotes about both well-known landmarks and hidden gems along the way.

Exploring the network of trails connects visitors to the captivating natural surroundings and urban environment from a fresh and intriguing perspective. At the end of the routes, all five trails converge at the heart of the campus.

The paths were inaugurated with a guided tour held during a festive launch event on December 24, attended by the Technion President, Prof. Uri Sivan, Senior Executive Vice President, Prof. Oded Rabinovitch, Vice President for Research, Prof. Noam Adir, Executive Vice President and Director General, Dr. Rafi Aviram, Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development, Prof. Wayne Kaplan, and various unit heads.

Dr. Rafi Aviram, the Executive Vice President and Director General of the Technion, praised the project, stating:
“Our campus is part of a unique ecological environment that includes natural forests, a rich variety of flora, and wildlife. The ‘Connecting Paths’ project expands the accessibility of the Technion to regional residents and visitors. Walking the Technion trails broadens horizons, showcases the campus’s beauty, and instills the values of conservation that we uphold.”

This complex project was brought to fruition thanks to extensive collaboration between the Operations Division, Human Resources Division, Campus Sustainability Center, Ecological Garden team, Central Library, and the Public Relations and Resource Development Division.

This new Haifa attraction is open and accessible to the public, inviting everyone to explore, scan, and enjoy!
