The Israel Electric Corporation has announced a $1.2 million investment in Ceal Minerals, a company developing innovative technology for carbon dioxide capture and for improving the quality of cooling water used in power plants.

The company is built on the groundbreaking research of Dr. Charlotte Vogt, Senior Lecturer at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry at the Technion, focusing on the production of calcium carbonate for industrial applications — offering a dual solution: reducing carbon emissions while improving environmental quality.

This is the first investment by the Israel Electric Corporation in the environmental sector, marking an important milestone in integrating academic science, industry, and environmental innovation.
