Shield and Paint

Fourteen new bomb shelters were transformed into colorful and meaningful works of art. The initiative, which grew out of an idea by the Operations and Infrastructure Division, to combine improved protection with creative expression, brought together students, staff, and operations personnel who collaborated enthusiastically under the guidance of the Sustainability Center, the Human Resources Division, and the Dean of Students. The project fostered new connections and strengthened the sense of community, as everyone participated – from concept to brushstroke – entirely on a volunteer basis.
