Transitioning to Net Zero – An Australian Case Study
The Technion is honored to host Dr. Rod Hill, Chair of the Science, Agriculture & Natural Technologies Division of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE), for a special lecture on one of the defining challenges of our time: the transition to a net-zero future.
Dr. Hill is a former Chief Research Scientist and Group Executive at Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, where he led research and innovation across energy technologies, mineral resources, manufacturing, industrial physics, and sustainability. Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in advancing science-based solutions to complex environmental and industrial challenges.
In his lecture, Dr. Hill will share insights from Australia’s journey toward net zero emissions, highlighting lessons learned, technological innovations, policy considerations, and opportunities for collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
This visit reflects the growing importance of international partnerships in addressing global sustainability challenges and advancing climate solutions through research and innovation.
