Connecting Paths

Connecting Paths

The “Connecting Paths” project is an initiative that combines two significant aspects: commemorating the history of the Technion’s buildings by bringing to life the fascinating stories of these structures and the people who shaped them, and promoting sustainability principles and environmental conservation.

The project creates a network of trails connecting the academic institution’s buildings, with a strong emphasis on environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly design.

This unique route includes 40 landmarks spread across five circular walking trails within the Technion campus. It passes through sites such as the Ecological Garden, the Avenue of Nobel Laureates, the Obelisk, Kissilac Park, and various natural spots, monuments, bridges, and historical buildings. At each landmark along the way, a sign with a QR code provides access to an app that guides visitors along the trails and helps them navigate. The app contains a wealth of information about the sites and highlights along the routes, seamlessly integrating nature and history.

At the heart of the campus, a vision of connection and bridging emerged. The central challenge we faced was simple yet significant: how to strengthen the sense of belonging and connection among the diverse populations within the academic space? Once this challenge was identified, an exciting journey of collaboration began, involving the Operations Division, the Human Resources Department, the Ecological Garden, the Central Library, and the Public Affairs Office.
