The Technion has hundreds of researchers from a variety of faculties who deal with sustainability.
To search for researchers, research output or research units, please log in to the CRIS search engine.
A large part of these research fields is promoted institutionally in technical centers/institutes:
• Grand Technion Energy Program (GTEP)
• Israel National Research Center for Electrochemical Propulsion (INREP)
• Grand Water Research Institute
• Transportation Research Institute
• National Building Research Institute
• Israeli Coastal and Marine Engineering Research Institute (CAMERI)
• Technion Additive Manufacturing Center (TAMC)
• Minerva Center for Micro Turbine Powered Energy Systems
• Technion Center of Excellence in Exposure Science and Environmental Health (TCEEH)
• Israeli Metals Institute
• Center for Research in Energy and Environmental Conservation Engineering
• Philip M. and Ethel Klutznick Center for Urban & Regional Studies
• Center for Research in Environmental & Water Resources Engineering and in Agricultural Engineering
• Food Industries R&D Center – the current center is to be shut own and integrated in the new Carasso building
• Stewart and Lynda Resnick Center for Sustainable Processes and Catalysis – under construction
There are other research centers at the Technion that have an introduction to sustainability issues, even though this is not their main motivation. Among these: The Russell Berrie Institute for Nanotechnology (which deals, among other things, with miniaturization of components and reduction of energy consumption, nanoencapsulation of food, water and wastewater treatment, production and recycling of materials, and more), The Helen Diller Quantum Center (which deals, among other things, with quantum sensing for the benefit of reducing energy consumption of electronic components or better medical imaging methods) and The Technical Program for Autonomous Systems (TASP) (which deals, among other things, with automation and optimization for the benefit of advanced production).
